Rural Fire ServiceRural Fire Service - Annual Report 04/05 - Published: 02 May 2006 2004/2005 was an active year in Rural Fire Control, both operationally and administratively. This year has again proven the adaptability of our volunteers to respond to, without question, numerous diverse tasks and incidents. These range from the normal small fires that occur during harvest, the control and issuing of permits in each brigade to assist in major bush fire emergencies throughout the State. Further duties include responding to assist at motor vehicle accidents and other incidents. more ..Rural Bush Fire Brigades - Published: 27 Jan 2006 Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades play a major role in fighting fires in almost 90% of NSW. There are approximately 2500 brigades with a total of around 70000 members. The Manager of the Mid Murray Zone, Mr Gary Eason is employed by the Rural Fire Service.
