Maximise the Exposure of your Local Event

Every year the Wakool Shire hosts an abundance of fabulous events for everyone to enjoy.

From sporting events and country shows, to festivals, markets and dance and music nights. There is always something for the whole family to see and do.

The key to getting locals and interested visitors to such events is awareness and letting people know what is on.

Newly appointed Communications & Events Officer for the Shire, Courtney Guy would like to invite local committees to register the details of their event or activity in the aim of assisting with publicity and increasing awareness.

By compiling a list of up-and-coming events within the Shire, Courtney can assist committees to take advantage of the promotional opportunities that are available.

“In cooperation with local organizations, committees and businesses I can certainly help facilitate the development and promotion of all sorts of events and activities, whilst also providing management advice and support."

“As a new person to the area, I am really keen to investigate and develop new opportunities for the community, and I encourage committees and groups to get in contact with me so we can maximize the exposure of the fantastic events the Shire has on offer,” Ms Guy said.

Event details submitted may have the opportunity to be included in press and radio advertising undertaken by the council, in the Shire Wire publication distributed to all ratepayers, within the “What’s On” pages of the Wakool Shire website, media community notice boards and more.

If you are involved with a regular event or are part of a committee about to host a new or special event within the Shire, please forward your details to Courtney.

“The more exposure we can give an event, can mean more people in attendance,” Ms Guy said.

To forward event details or to contact Courtney for further information, email courtney.guy@wakool.nsw.gov.au or phone the Barham Branch Office on (03) 5453 3200.
