State Water Media Release - Water Restrictions on Wakool, Merran & Colligen-Niemur SystemsLast modified: October 24, 2008 - 12:36 AM
The NSW Department of Water and Energy on Tuesday 21 October 2008 reminded all water users on the Wakool, Merran and Colligen-Niemur systems that water in these tributaries can only be taken for stock and domestic purposes. Deputy Director-General, David Harriss said that these systems are currently subject to a 323 Order under the Water Management Act 2000, meaning that water can only be used for stock and domestic purposes. "This means that the recently announced general security allocation of 2% can not be taken for irrigation purposes in these systems at this time", he said.
