FAQs
Development, Planning/Construction & HealthHow long will it take to process my Development Application? This depends on the complexity of the Project, quality of documentation provided and the level of environmental impact. A house or a shed, for example may only take a fortnight to process if all the information is provided and the building is set well back from the River. Does my Development Application need to go to the Council Meeting? In most cases Development Applications are dealt with by Council's Planning Staff under delegated authority. Contentious developments are referred to the Council meeting. I've heard that sometimes you have to submit an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) with your application, is this correct? All applications need to consider Environmental Effects. The majority are dealt with by a Statement of Environmental Effects (SEE) and minor impact development is done by a tick a box SEE which is part of the Development Application forms. The greater the impact, the more detailed the SEE. However, some development, which has the potential for serious environmental impacts, for example a feedlot, aquaculture, composting and many more are treated as "designated development" and require Environmental Impact Statements. Contact Council's Planning Officer to discuss your proposal. Can I use a Private Accredited Certifier, rather than Council? For building construction purposes, yes you can. www.wakool.local-e.nsw.gov.au/planning/1063/26240.html To veiw a list of Development Fees either go to the Heading Planning & Development - which has a link to the 2005/2006 Fees or click on the link below (which will take you straight there): www.wakool.local-e.nsw.gov.au/planning/1147/1149.html Contact DetailsWakool Shire Council - Planning Dept Ph: (03) 54533200 Fax: (03) 54533122 mail@wakool.nsw.gov.au |
