Management , Recycling Services & Landfills

The aim of this Section is to provide cost efficient waste management services to the Shire community and to encourage waste reduction, reuse and recycling practises.

Disposal of green waste in an ecologically friendly manner continues to be an issue for Council.  An economically viable method of processing green waste into a useable commodity is yet to be found.

The participation rate in the kerbside recycling service continued to improve with Shire residents having one of the highest participation rates in the region. This has also been reflected in the increasing amounts of scrap steel being collected and the continued success of the drumuster and chemical collection program

Operating Hours for Landfill Sites (Garbage Tips)

Koraleigh

Wednesdays: 9.30am - 12.30pm

Saturdays: 1.00pm - 5.00pm

Goodnight

Wednesdays: 2.00pm - 5.00pm

Sundays: 1.00pm - 5.00pm

Moulamein

Sundays: 1.00pm - 5.00pm

Wednesdays: 1.00pm - 5.00pm

Wakool

Wednesdays: 9.00am - 1.00pm 

Sundays: 9.00am - 1.00pm 

Barham

Tuesdays: 12.00 - 5.00pm

Thursdays: 12.00 - 5.00pm

Sundays: 12.00 - 5.00pm
