Staff Recruitment & Selection Policy - Published: 18 Mar 2008 At Councils October 2005 meeting, it was resolved to adopt the attached Policy on Staff Recruitment and Selection. The purpose of this document is to ensure that a standard approach is adopted for the recruitment of all vacant positions. more ..Policy for the Provision of Information to and Interaction between Councillors & Staff - Published: 18 Mar 2008 Based on the provisions of the Local Government Act, councillors and staff have distinctly different roles to play in council. The council is responsible for the strategic direction and for determining the policy framework of council. The Council also has a statutory role as the consent authority, under both the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and the Local Government Act, for applications for development consent and local approvals. These guidelines have been developed to maintain a consistent open and equitable approach to consideration and distribution of Council donations. It is important local community needs be assessed in open transparent way, be it a request for monetary donation or other forms of assistance.
