[Pages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 of Border Journal No 14]

[Pages 41 – 44 of Border Journal No 15]

1904/05 – Special Meeting when Progress Association wound up & Farmers & Settlers Association formed.  [Pages 20/21 Border Journal No 18].  Really 2 Associations rolled in together.

1912/13 – Wharf in Murray Street upgraded.  [Pages 12/13 Journal No 23]  [Pages 27, 30, 33]

1950’s reformed as Progress Association as town had grown commercially.

The Association continues as a lobby group in the main, sponsored & ran the Christmas Eve Mardi gras, for many years until public liability became a problem and is now organised by Lions Club.

Projects are small – mainly physical – cleans ups, garden upkeep, some small financial support (small).

Members look out for small maintenance jobs (overhanging branches, traffic hazards etc) and report to local shire staff with good results.

Guest speakers (Shire, Police etc) help to inform community through media reports.

Association membership is small, but loyal, and the Association serves as a link between Community and Other Authorities (Govt and Local Govt etc).

Residents always welcome  - with meetings advertised each month.
